Resident Evil 6's Lead Heroes to be Chris and Leon?

Capcom has yet to announce Resident Evil 6, but as ever the internet wheels have been turning unabated, grinding out rumours and speculation, especially since a viral marketing campaign with the phrase 'No Hope Left' and a mysterious symbol emerged recently and spilled its innards all over the web yesterday.

Now a report on VentureBeat is speculating that Resident Evil 2 and 4's Leon S. Kennedy and Resident Evil 1 and 5 hero Chris Redfield will be teaming up as Resident Evil 6's lead protagonists, and that Leon's duplicitous love interest Ada Wong will be putting in an appearance too.

The site also reports that Resident Evil 6 is in development at the same internal Capcom studio that handled previous iterations, citing a "reliable source within Capcom" for the information. It also notes that the team is aiming for a happy medium between Resident Evil 4 and 5's action and horror.

Hopefully, all will be revealed later tonight, as Capcom's Fright Night Event promises potential Resident Evil announcements. We'll be keeping our eyes peeled, but for now, anything Resident Evil 6 related can be filed away in the folder marked 'big fat rumour'.
