Ghost Recon: Future Soldier delayed to May; beta coming to Xbox 360 and PS3

After a development cycle so long that some of its original futuristic concepts are probably now a reality, Ubisoft has announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will launch on May 22 in North America and May 24 in Europe for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. And continuing Ubisoft's track record, the PC version of the game won't be available until "a later date."

The long-awaited beta for Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was also dated, but Ubisoft announced it is no longer an Xbox 360 exclusive. The beta is set to arrive in April for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
"We have made the decision to move the date in order to ensure that all these ingredients are pushed to the highest level and provide a truly unique shooter experience," Ubisoft France's IP development director Adrian Lacey said.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier was originally expected on store shelves in 2010 before being pushed between January 1 and March 31 of 2011. In October, Ubisoft announced the game was pushed to March 6, 2012.
