The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings 'Kingslayer' Shows his Cards

Yep. It's another trailer for the gorgeous-looking Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, with this particular video showing the burly Kingslayer goading and fighting the game's white-maned hero, Geralt.

It's another typically epic video showing off The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition's glorious visuals, which will look almost as good as the PC version on Xbox 360, with the game spun across two discs, with an extra making of DVD and world map thrown in for good measure for the standard edition.

There's also a Witcher 2 'Dark Edition' shown at the end of this latest trailer, which shoves an art book, world map, a making of DVD, official soundtrack, Witcher medallion and three stickers into the 'Dark Edition' box. You can pre-order it from GAME for £59.99 and get a free T-shirt into the bargain.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition is out on April 17th, 2012. Check out the new video and Dark Edition contents below.

New Saints Row: The Third DLC Pack

More Saints Row: The Third DLC! This latest one is called the Bloodsucker Pack. Because everyone loves vampires, right? They’re the new zombies.

Not quite as meaty as Gangstas in Space, this latest content offering nevertheless provides some interesting extras. Foremost amongst these is the ability to suck the blood of your victims to regain health, an action executed by holding down the right stick. Which is kinda fun.

In addition to this, the pack also comes with access to VIP bonuses for 25% Cash Boosts, Hourly Income of $2,500, 20% Respect bonuses, and the Scavenger ability, allowing you to earn four times as much cash from drops. You can see all of the new content in the new trailer, posted below.

The Bloodsucker Pack releases hits from Feb 28th for 160 MS Points. Or it's free if you have a Season Pass.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter Revealed, Hits in October

The next Medal of Honor game will be called Warfighter, will not have DICE-developed multiplayer and will ship in October.

As with Medal of Honor (2010), the game will be developed by Danger Close, using DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 engine. However, unlike the previous game, Danger Close will be doing their own multiplayer.

Beyond the fact that the game will follow Tier 1 operatives, however, we know little else. OXM has screens, details and interviews in its next issue and a proper unveiling is scheduled for GDC in a couple of weeks. So expect more then.

In the meantime, what do you make of Warfighter as a title? No-nonsense and straight to the point, or the dumbest, least imaginative title ever?

the amazing spider man out this june

With The Amazing Spider-Man movie swinging into cinemas this summer, it was obvious when the game was going to arrive too, but Activision has released a specific release date for the webslinger's latest movie tie-in foray, which in the past haven't turned out too badly on the whole. Well, Spider-Man 2 was a pretty fine game, anyway.

The Amazing Spider-Man will be launching on June 26th, ahead of the movie's debut in the multiplexes, with a menagerie of villains for Spidey to fight, including the big old grey horned one and human wrecking ball himself, the Rhino.

You can see Rhino in the new trailer and screenshots below, and expect more villain announcements in the run up to The Amazing Spider-Man's June 26th launch.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Video - You Will Believe in Ghosts

Augmented reality, stealth camouflage... In Ghost Recon: Future Soldier you'll take this ghost technology for granted, but today's soldiers have no such equipment, as shown in this new trailer presented by former Navy Seal Richard 'Mack' Machowicz. In the video, 'Mack' recounts a real-life story in which Captain Richard Phillips was captured by Somalian pirates and rescued by specialists who took them down with three synchronised sniper shots.

This leads Mack into showing off a hostage situation in Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, where four targets are holding up an innocent truck driver. Camouflaged on the ridge above, you're able to mark all four enemies and take them out in one fell swoop, just like the real life incident with those nasty Somalian pirates. See what they did there?

The first in a series of three, this video asserts that "you will believe in ghosts!" Check it out and see what you think. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is out on May 22nd in North America and May 25th in Europe.

In Stores This Week Around the World

Here we go again with our guide to all of the games hitting your favourite retailers in the next week. Whether you live in the Bahamas or Birmingham, we've got you covered.
This week, Starbreeze's comeback arrives in NA and Europe, in the form of a rebooted Syndicate. All future-tech wizardry and industrial espionage, the FPS is looking very promising. Indeed, it would have this week’s shooty sci-fi category all sewn up if it wasn’t for Binary Domain. Toshihiro Nagoshi's attempt to grab the Western masses may not look particularly exciting, but it’s got a few cool ideas beneath that dull exterior. European gamers can grab it this week.
Elsewhere, a couple of Japanese oddities make it out into the world. NeverDead finally reaches Australia and Asura’s Wrath arrives in the US this week. Between limbs as weapons and globe-sized boss battles, that’s plenty of mental to go around.
As for Asia itself, they too get Asura's Wrath, as well as The Darkness II, Entaku no Seito: Students of Round, Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Storm Generation and Under Defeat HD. What’s Under Defeat? De floor!
Sorry.

Haunting Trailer Hit for Prototype 2

ctivision has released some new screenshots for Prototype 2, along with fresh details on the game’s monsters and a brilliant new trailer.

There’s five different beasties highlighted in the screens; the Infected, Juggernaught, Hydras, Brawlers and Flyers. None of them are going to win any beauty competitions. You can catch a glimpse of them below.

In addition to this, there’s a new trailer for the game doing the rounds. It’s an emotional affair, telling the story of the virus outbreak through news reports and phone calls between the new protagonist Sergeant James Heller, his daughter and his wife.

Prototype 2 hits the US on April 24 and in Europe on April 26.

Asura And Ryu To Clash In Asura’s Wrath DLC?

Capcom recently sent out this image of what appears to be Asura from Asura's Wrath fighting Ryu in Street Fighter. Somehow, someway, that's not what this image is depicting at all, it's the other way around, Ryu is in Asura's Wrath. This seems to be some kind of plan for future DLC for Asura's Wrath, Capcom has promised more details soon. Until then, all we can do is speculate. So....who would beat who?

Jordan Mechner's Decided to Remake Karateka

There’s always reason to be nervous when the terms “remake,” “reboot,” or “reenvisioning” come up, but after seeing what Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner did with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, the acclaimed designer has certainly earned our trust.

Hopefully, he’s able to work the same magic on Karateka as Prince of Persia, as the designer announced today that he’s working with a small team on creating an updated Karateka for downloadable services later this year.
“Whether I’m doing a game, movie, or graphic novel, my goal is to create a world in which a story and characters come alive,” said Mechner in an interview with Venture Beat. “I love working in all those media, each has its own special strengths, and I’d hate to give any of them up. I’m working as hard as ever as a screenwriter, but when I thought about bringing back Karateka, I felt very strongly that it should be a game. And that now was the time.”

Not All Digital Versions of Vita Games Are Cheaper

In unsurprising but disappointing news, not all digital versions of Vita games are guaranteed to be cheaper through the PlayStation Store.

FIFA Soccer, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, F1 2011, and Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour are, dollar for dollar, the exact same price on the PlayStation Store as they are at, say, GameStop or Amazon.
Coinciding with Vita’s early release for those who pre-ordered bundles, more Vita games are now in the PlayStation Store. This follows up on Sony’s promise that most, if not all, Vita games would be available for purchase in digital and retail forms.

Of course, many Vita games are cheaper digitally.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss is $49.99 at retail but $44.99 digitally. Similar reductions has been applied to a number of launch Vita games, and not all of them were published by Sony. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, for example, is $34.99 digitally but $39.99 at retail. Elsewhere, all of Ubisoft’s games have welcomed digital price cuts.

Will these price cuts last forever? Who knows. Prediction: no.
Seems like digital price cuts are a thing that will happen on a case-by-case, publisher-by-publisher basis.

The witcher 2 second dev diary talks story complexities

CD Projekt has released a second developer diary titled "The most complex and non-linear story ever told on Xbox 360" which - as you can probably guess - features the dev team chatting about the game's story.

According to Jan Bartkowicz, the game's story writer, The Witcher 2's narrative pays homage to classic role-playing traditions by giving player plenty of choices and making each decision impact the narrative and progression.
Check out the diary below.

Binary Domain demo

On February 15th 2012, X360 and PS3 players will experience the world of Binary Domain by playing through two of the Rust Crew’s early missions set in near future Tokyo. You’ll take command of Dan Marshall and work together with a squad of teammates from an elite International taskforce who watch and react to your every move. Gamers will have to fight highly intelligent robotic opponents and will also get the chance to try out Binary Domain’s ground breaking Consequence System. This system allows you to interact with and influence teammates in a variety of ways never before seen in a third person shooter, By using voice recognition in combat and non-combat situations players have a more natural dialogue with their allies, one which affects their behaviour and attitude.

introducing alan wake`s american nightmares mr. scratch

Every classic game hero needs a nasty, crazy villain to go up against and I’m excited to say that after watching the following trailer, Remedy Entertainment has created the perfect bad guy to Alan Wake’s good guy for the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade game, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.

Join me for a little one on one time with the game’s villain, Mr. Scratch. He’s your typical fun loving serial killer that enjoys knives, strangling people and a little piece and quiet. Ok, maybe he’s not so typical, just a little deranged and crazy as hell! Regardless, take a look and get to know him, you’ll find him strangely alluring. With Alan Wake’s dashing good looks, this evil doppelganger may look like the famous writer, but he couldn’t be more different than our hero. Making his way to Wake’s wife, this harbinger of darkness intends to put a damper on things and make life miserable for Alan Wake.  After seeing this, I’m very excited to see what Mr. Scratch has up his sleeves and the craziness he cause Alan Wake.

Alan Wake`s American Nightmare is available on xbox live arcade Feb. 22

Hudson said on Twitter: "After an awesome effort by our team, I'm proud to announce #MassEffect3 is officially GOLD! Many surprises await you - this week and beyond."

Bethesda Concept Artist Adam Adamowicz Passes Away

If you enjoyed the look of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as much as I did, we have, in large part, Bethesda Game Studios concept artist Adam Adamowicz to thank.
Unfortunately, he’s no longer with us.
Adamowicz reportedly passed away earlier this week, the tragic result of a battle with cancer. He was 42.
There’s an informative and touching eulogy by a fellow concept artist at Awesome Robo, which includes plenty of Adamowicz’s art.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Gets a New Teaser Vid

Touchscreen Tablet Controller Planned for Next Xbox?

Rumour has it that the next Xbox will have a touchscreen tablet controller not all that dissimilar to the Nintendo Wii U's controller, which also has a touchscreen embedded in its chassis with the sticks and buttons relegated to the controller's edges.

Xbox World Magazine [via NeoGAF] has heard on the grapevine that Microsoft is experimenting with a far sleeker version of the Wii U-style controller, with an HD touchscreen surrounded by your analogue sticks and face buttons, with triggers presumably still on the back.

According to the report from "sources", the screen will adapt to content, so it'll be a remote for your television, it'll be an internet browser and it'll be a menu screen or portable interface display with extra buttons. It'll even make you a cup of tea (or not).

In other next-gen news, Epic's VP Mark Rein revealed that the developer has Unreal Engine 4 running on "systems we can't name yet". Xbox 720/Loop/whatever? Maybe. And as ever, rumours are still abound that the next Xbox will be releasing in 2013. Still nothing is concrete yet, so it could all be a load of old balls. We'll see.
